Prediction of Vapor-Liquid Equilibria Using CEOS /GE Models
The present study investigates the use of different GE mixing rules in cubic equations of state for prediction of phase behavior of multicomponent hydrocarbon systems. To predict VLE data in multicomponent symmetric and asymmetric mixtures such as systems that contain light gases (nitrogen, carbon dioxide, etc.) and heavy hydrocarbons, the SRK equation of state has been combined with excess Gib...
متن کاملMolecular model for carbon dioxide optimized to vapor-liquid equilibria.
A molecular model for carbon dioxide is presented, and the parameters of the Lennard-Jones sites, the bond length, and the quadrupole moment are optimized to experimental vapor-liquid equilibrium data. The resulting molecular model shows mean unsigned deviations to the experiment over the whole temperature range from triple point to critical point of 0.4% in saturated liquid density, 1.8% in va...
متن کاملMolecular Model for Formic Acid adjusted to Vapor-Liquid Equilibria
A new molecular model for formic acid is proposed which favorably describes vapor-liquid equilibrium properties in the full temperature range. The geometry of the model was determined by quantum chemical calculations of the cis-conformer. The model is rigid and consists of anisotropic united atom Lennard-Jones sites and point charges, so that it requires relatively little computational effort.
متن کاملPhase Inversion in a Batch Liquid – Liquid Stirred System
"> Phase inversion phenomenon occurs in many industrial processes including liquidliquid dispersions. Some parameters such as energy input or the presence of mineral compounds in the system affect this phen...
متن کاملMeasurements and Correlations of Liquid-liquid-Equilibria of the Mixtures Consisting of Ethanol, Water, Pentane, Hexane, and Cyclohexane
Abstract: In this study, the liquid-liquid equilibria of the mixtures consisted of ethanol, water, and the main components of gasoline fuel: pentane, hexane, and cyclohexane were experimentally determined. This study is related to the phase behavior when water in atmosphere is absorbed into ethanol + gasoline fuel (gasohol) and then possibly separates into two liquid phases in an automobile fue...
